    A Response from NACA to parents from Yulee Middle School who requested that two books be removed from the school library in Florida's Nassau County School District's.

     

    "It is our understanding that some parents have asked for Lauren Myracle’s TTYL and TTFN to be removed from the library because of objections to the content and ideas in the books, specifically references to sex, stripping, and alcohol use. We write to recommend against the removal of the books and to offer information about the issues that are implicated when books are challenged in public schools."

    “They talk about mutual masturbation,”. they take it even further. They discuss everything, topics like roleplaying for different genders, blood play, dental dams … fisting is mentioned. I mean, they mention it all.” If I were to show that material to a child, I would be brought up on charges,” Andrews said. “But somehow our public schools are allowed to teach this to junior high and high school kids.”

  • Our Goals

    • Educating Parents:  Parents have been forced out of the education process. They have been rendered powerless by school districts that are failing their children. We will seek to educate and mobilize parents to act on their child’s behalf.

     

    • Supporting Strong School Board Candidates: We will support local leaders who will select curriculum focusing on reading, writing, and math with a good historical and civics background. We want to minimize programs that focus on facts and information, not political ideology that has become popular in today’s divisive educational environment. Save Florida Schools will find candidates and train them to run a successful campaign, and will also help with campaign marketing, advertising and funding.
